Paige briefly remarks that the Rhythm Doctor program has its limitations in tackling deeper issues such as addiction. She then remembers that there is another patient, also suffering from addiction, to treat. The player then moves on to the next patient.

Supraventricular Tachycardia (2-2) is a level in Rhythm Doctor. The Night Shift version is Unreachable.

It introduces Oneshots that can change timing via the nurse's "Ready, Get, Set, Go!" calls.

Synopsis

The player treats Cole once more, with an abstract neon background fading in and out of Cole's real life room, as he drinks coffee in an effort to enhance his creative process toward music composition. During the level, Paige cautions Cole toward his coffee drinking habits and urges him to drink less. Cole says he can't make music without his coffee, prompting him to take an even more intense dose of caffeine as the abstract background intensifies accordingly with his heartbeats speeding up. After the level, Paige gently dissuades Cole from his coffee drinking habits, to which Cole reluctantly agrees. Paige briefly remarks that the Rhythm Doctor program has its limitations in tackling deeper issues such as addiction. She then remembers that there is another patient, also suffering from addiction, to treat. The player then moves on to the next patient.

IanSpriteS.png H-hi again!
IanSpriteS.png There's something else you need to know about SVT heartbeats.
IanSpriteS.png First, let's recap how SVT beats work...
PaigeSpriteS.png (The nurse does a lot of work around here.)
If the first beat is missed:
PaigeSpriteS.png Remember to follow the nurse's "Get" and "Set" rhythm.
If the first beat is hit:
PaigeSpriteS.png Nice, got it in one go.
If any beat is missed:
IanSpriteS.png OK!
IanSpriteS.png Now you should learn how to deal with attacks.
If all the beats are hit:
IanSpriteS.png Wow! You did it perfectly? I bet you took music classes as a kid.
IanSpriteS.png Now, you should learn how to deal with attacks.
IanSpriteS.png When SVT patients have attacks, their heart rate doubles.
PaigeSpriteS.png And when their heart settles, it halves.
PaigeSpriteS.png The nurse will see changes coming.
PaigeSpriteS.png And she will warn you with a faster cue or a slower cue..
PaigeSpriteS.png Just follow the rhythm established by her "Get" and "Set" calls.
IanSpriteS.png Here we go!
If the transition is hit:
IanSpriteS.png Nice, nailed the transition.
If half the beats are missed:
PaigeSpriteS.png Caught you off guard, huh.
PaigeSpriteS.png Don't worry, let's try that again.
PaigeSpriteS.png Pay close attention to the nurse, but don't stop hitting the current rhythm until she finishes her cue with "Go"!
If half the beats are hit:
PaigeSpriteS.png Caught you a little bit off-guard, huh?
PaigeSpriteS.png Don't worry, let's try that again.
PaigeSpriteS.png Pay close attention to the nurse!
If all the beats are hit:
PaigeSpriteS.png Excellent!
PaigeSpriteS.png One more set, for the patient's sake.
PaigeSpriteS.png Get ready, you can handle this.
If half the beats are missed:
PaigeSpriteS.png Oh dear...
PaigeSpriteS.png Feel free to come back and practice this again if you'd like.
If half the beats are hit:
PaigeSpriteS.png Smooth!
PaigeSpriteS.png You've got it down.
If all the beats are hit:
PaigeSpriteS.png Smooth!
PaigeSpriteS.png You've got it down. Honestly, that was perfect!
PaigeSpriteS.png That patient, Cole, keeps drinking coffee lately.
PaigeSpriteS.png Now he's experiencing caffeine-induced attacks.
PaigeSpriteS.png You just need to keep him stabilised.
PaigeSpriteS.png Good luck.
[Level midpoint]
PaigeSpriteS.png Alright, I'm back...are you drinking coffee again?
PaigeSpriteS.png It's the caffeine that's triggering your episodes!
Cole Spritesheet.png ...but...
Cole Spritesheet.png I can't write music without it!
PaigeSpriteS.png Stop! You're going to hurt yourself!
Cole Spritesheet.png Get away from me!
Cole Spritesheet.png I'm not giving up on music! NEVER!
PaigeSpriteS.png Alright, good. Stable again.
PaigeSpriteS.png Listen. I promise, everything will be okay.
PaigeSpriteS.png If you really drink this much coffee per day for the sake of your music,
PaigeSpriteS.png maybe there's something deeper going on.
PaigeSpriteS.png Try thinking of other things that could inspire you.
PaigeSpriteS.png If you can find something, it should weaken the dependency.
Cole Spritesheet.png Doesn't sound easy, but...fine. I'll try.
PaigeSpriteS.png Phew. Good work with the defibrillation.
PaigeSpriteS.png This rhythm method helps with symptoms, but...I wonder if it can really treat addiction.
PaigeSpriteS.png We usually need to tackle the issue at its root. It's complicated.
PaigeSpriteS.png Speaking of addiction, there's another patient we should check in on.
PaigeSpriteS.png She's actually on shift, so let's go visit.
JanitorSmol.png That hoodie guy keeps chuggin' coffee. Look at him go!
JanitorSmol.png He's really putting those down, huh?
JanitorSmol.png Don't come cryin' to me if he, uh, makes a mess.

2P Changes

  • An additional blue Cole is added to the level for Player 2, with his respective additional heartbeat row. This secondary Cole has the exact same heartbeat as the default Cole, with Player 1 taking control of the latter.

History

  • This level has several Oneshot rhythms that gradually speed up, and near the end, there is a rhythm that is faster than any other pattern in the level. Before this section occurs, the nurse warns the player with a "Ready, Ready, Get, Set, Go!" cue instead of the usual "Ready, Get, Set, Go!" cue. This is done to properly prepare them for the fast rhythm. However, at launch, this level did not have the special cue, and transitioned into the fast rhythm much more abruptly.[1]
