Something to Tell You is the first level of Act 6. It is the first level in the main story to include Syncopation.

Synopsis

Logan and Hailey are treated throughout the hospital as Logan attempts multiple times to confess his feelings to Hailey. When alone, Hailey wonders why Logan hasn't admitted his fellings for her, Logan wonders why he can't be strong enough to tell the truth, and both worry that the love they feel isn't really felt by the other. At the end, they finally yell to eachother that they want to be more than friends.

the next day…

IanSpriteS.png Welcome back!
IanSpriteS.png You came at a good time. I’ve made a lot of progress on studying Connectifia abortus.
IanSpriteS.png I’ve been looking into a fix, so that it won’t keep coming back.
IanSpriteS.png In the meantime…we’ve got a new patient!
IanSpriteS.png When Paige gets here, she can help us run some tests.
IanSpriteS.png Oh, and, uh…
IanSpriteS.png Y’know how everyone who gets signed in needs to fill out some forms, right?
IanSpriteS.png There’s a space at the bottom to ask for accommodations.
IanSpriteS.png The new guy wrote something for us…let me find it…
”My only request is that Dr Gabriel Edega is not permitted to speak to me.”
”I am happy to work with any of the other providers on staff. Otherwise, I will discontinue my treatment.”
IanSpriteS.png No idea what that’s about.
IanSpriteS.png I told him to wait here, but then he wandered upstairs and made himself comfortable.
IanSpriteS.png I think he’s in the old Medical Records Room. We barely use it these days, so it’s kind of messy.
IanSpriteS.png Oh hey, here’s Edega now, actually. I’ll just ask him-
EdegaSpriteS.png Intern. I need to speak with you in my office.
EdegaSpriteS.png You and Dr Paige. She’s waiting for you there.
EdegaSpriteS.png It’s time for your performance evaluation.
PaigeSpriteS.png (Good morning, Intern! Hopefully this goes quick, right?)
PaigeSpriteS.png Sir, is there any way that this can wait a few minutes?
PaigeSpriteS.png We have a new patient that needs our help.
PaigeSpriteS.png The nurse told me he really isn’t feeling well-
EdegaSpriteS.png Ian is more than capable of getting set up on his own.
EdegaSpriteS.png This can’t wait.
EdegaSpriteS.png It’s been quite a while now since we instate the Rhythm Defibrillation Program.
EdegaSpriteS.png You’re long overdue for an evaluation. Both of you.
PaigeSpriteS.png O-oh…okay!
EdegaSpriteS.png Let’s get started. First, Dr Paige.
EdegaSpriteS.png To be blunt, I’ve noticed some concerning behavior.
EdegaSpriteS.png It started shortly after we began the program.
EdegaSpriteS.png To list just one example…currently, we are making headway on our Miracle Defibrillator project.
EdegaSpriteS.png As part of that process, we require patients with relevant arrhythmia symptoms to consent to testing it while it’s in beta.
EdegaSpriteS.png Without testing, we can’t move forward.
EdegaSpriteS.png After I had already been in talks with Mr Jonronero to begin further testing, he suddenly declined his consent.
EdegaSpriteS.png I know that his sudden decision was because of your influence.
EdegaSpriteS.png Do you really assume that you know what’s best for him?
PaigeSpriteS.png S-sir, I don’t have any control over what Lucky wants to do. It’s his body-
EdegaSpriteS.png You’ll have an opportunity to speak after your evaluation.
EdegaSpriteS.png After this roadblock, I took it upon myself to discuss the Miracle Defibrillator beta with various other patients.
EdegaSpriteS.png Strangely, every patient I spoke to also declined their consent.
EdegaSpriteS.png I can’t help but wonder if this is also a matter of your interference.
EdegaSpriteS.png Furthermore…
EdegaSpriteS.png When I introduced the Rhythm Defibrillation Program, I made it clear that both you and Ian were to shift to rhythm treatments.
EdegaSpriteS.png An yet…no matter how many times I’ve checked in on you, I can hardly remember you getting practice with the rhythm defibrillator.
EdegaSpriteS.png You disregarded your instructions and have made a habit of relying on Ian and the intern.
EdegaSpriteS.png Every day spent resisting the shift to rhythm treatment is a day where we have to turn more patients away.
EdegaSpriteS.png You’ve always been a bright and motivated person. It’s not like you to let stubbornness get in the way of saving lives.
PaigeSpriteS.png I…
EdegaSpriteS.png And to think this laziness is coming from the same person who requested a switch to LTFT.
PaigeSpriteS.png Oh, well…I was thinking maybe if I worked less than full-time, it would help me be more energized-
EdegaSpriteS.png LTFT schedules are for staff who need them. Like doctors who are pregnant or raising children.
EdegaSpriteS.png Do you have children at home, Ada?
PaigeSpriteS.png No, sir, I’m single…I just thought that a more lax schedule could help me with-
EdegaSpriteS.png I suspect you’ll be a team player and revoke that request. I appreciate it. Moving on.
EdegaSpriteS.png Intern. It’s time for your evaluation.
EdegaSpriteS.png My notes on your performance are much briefer.
EdegaSpriteS.png You’ve been doing really impressive work. I have to thank you.
EdegaSpriteS.png You’re a quick learner, and you always seem determined to try again when you stumble.
EdegaSpriteS.png I look forward to continuing our work together.
EdegaSpriteS.png That is all.
PaigeSpriteS.png Um, just to respond to your feedback…
PaigeSpriteS.png The thing about the rhythm treatments is…you know, with that virus jumping around…
PaigeSpriteS.png I feel like we haven’t done the proper testing to really make sure there’s a permanent way-
EdegaSpriteS.png I believe you said you had a patient to get to, Dr Paige.
PaigeSpriteS.png
PaigeSpriteS.png …y-yes,sir. I’ll get right on that.
PaigeSpriteS.png I have to run to my office first, intern. Then I’ll meet you and Ian in the Records Room!
IanSpriteS.png Hey! Hope the meeting went well…?
IanSpriteS.png Let’s head to the Records Room and get that patient set up before he gets lost or something.
IanSpriteS.png It’s up the elevator. Paige can meet us there.
IanSpriteS.png It’s that kid again. This is awkward.
IanSpriteS.png Uh…what were you doing in there? That’s room’s supposed to be off-limits.
LoganSpriteS.png I was just scouting around!
LoganSpriteS.png I was lookin’ for a cool spot to hang out, I don’t wanna be stuck in my room all the time.
IanSpriteS.png Well, you can’t hang out in there. We keep confidential info about patients in there.
LoganSpriteS.png I saw that! At first I thought everything in the room was junk, but then I saw those big filing cabinet things.
LoganSpriteS.png They had all these folders with our names on them! So I, uh…starting flipping through.
IanSpriteS.png Yeah I see that. You were snooping. Let me guess, you were reading that girl Hailey’s file?
IanSpriteS.png Did you discover any big revelations about her in there?
LoganSpriteS.png It was mostly just blood pressure charts and insurance information…
IanSpriteS.png Yeah. Hospitals are kind of boring actually.
IanSpriteS.png Why do you need a cool spot to hang out anyway?
LoganSpriteS.png I’m trying to figure out the perfect way to tell Hailey that I…you know…! Is it crazy for me to be nervous about it?!
IanSpriteS.png You look really sweaty.
IanSpriteS.png Intern, can you take care of this? I don’t think he’s going to get out the way until we help him out.

IanSpriteS.png Really wish these kids could just stay still...
IanSpriteS.png When I was their age, I stayed in my room and refreshed message boards all day! Like a good kid!
IanSpriteS.png Notice those arrows on the ECG? That's syncopation.
IanSpriteS.png That's what we'll be treating here.
IanSpriteS.png In a set of seven pulses, the syncopated pulse will be shorter than the other six.
IanSpriteS.png Usually this means they last half as long.
IanSpriteS.png Think of the arrows like booster tiles in Kart Race Krumble.
IanSpriteS.png Let's give it a try!
Some misses:
IanSpriteS.png Great!
IanSpriteS.png By the way, syncopation can appear on any beat!
IanSpriteS.png It might move around a lot, so pay attention!
Some misses:
IanSpriteS.png Hope you've gotten a feel for it.
No misses:
IanSpriteS.png Nailed it!
IanSpriteS.png Alright, great. You should be good to go now.
LoganSpriteS.png You think so? You think I should tell her now?
IanSpriteS.png Wait, I wasn't talking to you-
LoganSpriteS.png Maybe you're right. Maybe I just need to toughen up and get it done!
IanSpriteS.png I didn't say that, I was talking to-
LoganSpriteS.png Alright, I'll do it!
LoganSpriteS.png Hailey! Where are you?
LoganSpriteS.png I know I'm not good with words, but maybe this time... maybe if I...
IanSpriteS.png Intern, go help him before he makes a scene.
HaileySpriteS.png Which one of my pretty dresses
HaileySpriteS.png Do I pick to wear?
HaileySpriteS.png Wonder when he will confess? Us two
HaileySpriteS.png are such a pair
LoganSpriteS.png Is it all in my head?
LoganSpriteS.png Should I turn around instead?
LoganSpriteS.png Hailey I like you more than a friend...

LoganSpriteS.png When we both sat on the bench
HaileySpriteS.png Yes?

HaileySpriteS.png Don't we belong together...

HaileySpriteS.png Ohmygosh, ohmygosh...
HaileySpriteS.png I'm sorry, you probably wanted to say it first! I stole your moment!
HaileySpriteS.png Here, here, forget I said anything, let's do it again. I'll pretend I didn't hear you.
LoganSpriteS.png Wh-what-
HaileySpriteS.png A do-over! Let's do a do-over. Okay! Now... that's your chance, say it!
LoganSpriteS.png I already said it!
LoganSpriteS.png I'm not doing it again! Now you're just making fun of me...
HaileySpriteS.png No way! It was so cute!
LoganSpriteS.png I'm glad it was cute... can I go back to my room now?
HaileySpriteS.png Good idea. Your face is so red, I'm worried you're gonna have a heart attack.
HaileySpriteS.png Let's go together!
HaileySpriteS.png Hold my hand?
LoganSpriteS.png Oh! Uh...sure!
JanitorSmol.png Alright, alright, the two lovebirds are finally going steady. I'm happy for them.
JanitorSmol.png But do they need to make a mess everywhere they go?
JanitorSmol.png Spilled coffee here, trail of cookie crumbs over there...a cup of boba milk tea sitting on the windowsill without a coaster!
JanitorSmol.png This isn't the place to go on a date! Go outside! It's much more romantic out there, I promise!

Trivia

  • Despite Something to Tell You being the first story level to use syncopation, the mechanic was originally tutorialized in the Bits & Bops collab level Meet and Tweet, and was first implemented in the level editor even earlier.
