Game Description

Rhythm Doctor is a 2D, pixel-styled rhythm game, developed and published by 7th Beat Games and Indienova. The game was released in early access on Steam and Itch.io on the 26th of February, 2021, for Windows and MacOS, and remains updated with new additions, bug fixes, and further development.

In Rhythm Doctor, players have to accurately press their spacebar respective to a variety of different beat types and gimmicks layered over a music track within each unique level of the game. It also allows players to customize their own character sleeve with its built-in sleeve editor.

Rhythm Doctor will be 7th Beat Games' second major published game, and was originally a free Flash game inspired by Rhythm Heaven, made during college summer breaks from 2011 to 2012! The first online version was released at the end of 2012.

The game received overwhelmingly positive feedback on Steam during its early access release, and has ultimately been praised for its unique story and characters, gameplay mechanics, visuals, and soundtrack.

The game includes a level editor, which is also available for free download without purchasing the game. It allows players to create their own levels, which they can upload to the Steam Workshop or to the non-official community Discord server, for others to play. The game supports single-player mode, shared or split screen co-op, full controller support, as well as remote play.

Easter Eggs

Rhythm Dogtor

You can see a secret code in Ada's room, which you can press in order to play a secret level, which is a parody of 3-X One Shift More. The code is: ←→←← →←→→ ←→←← →←→→

Hurry Up!

In 3-X "One Shift More", after the line "But they've been waiting for so long", if the player doesn't press the last beat, the Politician's urging can be heard.

"Oh, come on, make your move! Hurry up!"
"You can do it, come on! Hurry up!"
"Any time. Now, come on! Let's go!"
"Make a move already, would you?"
"Oh.... bloody hell, hurry up already?"

After that, he'll press the last beat.

Special Sleeves

Entering "nbrights" or "transrights" in the Sleeve Paint screen will change your sleeve to the respective flag.

Christmas Metreenome

When you open the editor on Christmas, the metronome will look like a Christmas tree and the sound will change to bells.

Samurai.

Typing "Samurai." (with the dot and capital S) in the Story Mode select screen or Main Menu will change most text in the game to only display "Samurai." Floating Text events will only display one syllable per line, which will always be "Samurai." The text can also be changed back to normal by typing "Samurai." again.
