As the name suggests, Samurai is a samurai who wears red armor with golden details, and wields a sword in his left hand. He is of small to average height and has tanned / bronze skin.

== Personality ==
Samurai is not a talkative character. Although he does have dialogue, it is rare for him to speak, and whenever he does, it is usually in brief, short sentences. He is known to be a frequent goer of night clubs, with an appreciation for electronic music, taking a particular liking to [[Cole|Cole's]] drum and bass music as shown in [[Unreachable]]. Of his few instances of dialogue, he is seen complimenting Cole's music several times, and thanking the two doctors in [[Super Battleworn Insomniac]], showing a glimpse of him being amicable and kind to others.

He is depicted as a skilled skater in [[The 90's Decision]], with the [[Janitor]] stating "he's really good" at it. He is seen skating through the Roller Disco, participating in the chase for the donut, showing how the Samurai is prone to act in a silly manner.

*Cole and Samurai share an appreciation for electronic music. He is first seen complimenting Cole's music after 1-XN, stating he had missed Cole's music when he was away from the hospital. He is once again seen complimenting it in 2-1N, saying a brief "Good" in response to it, during the rank screen. Lastly, he is seen in 2-2N, partying with Cole and "blaring music through the hospital" with him, as stated in the pager's post-clear text. Their continued presence together, and 2-2N's post-clear pager text, suggests that the two may be friends.
*[[Insomniac]] and Samurai have an unknown relationship. The two of them share oriental theming; their levels were formerly known as Oriental Insomniac and Oriental Techno respectively, and their levels prominently feature visual oriental themes. Furthermore, Insomniac's internal name is ''SamuraiBoss.'' However, the only evidence of any direct relationship between the two characters is that they are briefly paired together during X-0, seen in Samurai's room. Thus, the nature of their relationship remains mostly unknown.

Although the Owl never directly speaks, their few appearances may suggest a slightly mischievous personality. In [[Meet and Tweet]], the Owl is seen contributing to the birds' conversation by speaking of their experience snatching papers away from [[Paige]]. They are also depicted in [[The 90's Decision]], aiding the Samurai in the chase for the donut. The bird that swoops away the donut in the D-rank and S-rank outcomes is never specified, though if the Owl was the bird in question, it would further add to their mischievous nature. Beyond these indirect displays of personality, however, the Owl remains with a mostly unknown demeanor about them.

*[[Mr Stevenson|Mr]] and Mrs Stevenson are the owners of the Owl. Although the former is never seen directly speaking of their pet birds, the latter is seen indirectly talking about her pet birds several times, described as "over-the-moon" when Ian and the intern take care of her birds in 4-3. Furthermore, in 4-3N, the post-clear text for the pager has Ian quoting Mrs Stevenson, suggesting that she considers her pet birds to be her "children." Lastly, in X-MAT, Mrs Stevenson is shown to be knowledgable of bird heartbeats, and excitedly begins talking at length about said topic when prompted. Due to all of these aforementioned factors, it can be assumed that the Owl's owners deeply care for them, with Mrs Stevenson in particular being fond of them.
*[[Logan]] and the Owl are first seen together in 3-1N, with the pager's pre-clear text stating that he has approached the Owl of his own accord. Logan vents his feelings out to the Owl, speaking about his inability to confess his romantic feelings to [[Hailey]]. As the level ends, both Hailey and the Owl leave Logan by himself in the plant room. It is unknown what the Owl perceives of Logan, or vice versa, only that Logan sought the Owl as a brief "therapy bird"; the pager text and some of the rank text indicates that the Owl may have been positively receptive toward hearing out Logan's feelings. The nature of their relationship remains mostly unknown, however.
*The Wren and Canary do not feature much direct interaction toward the Owl. However, the Owl is seen speaking with the Wren and Cockatiel in the middle of X-MAT, and is also depicted cheerfully looking at the Wren, Canary, and Cockatiel toward the end of the level, suggesting that the Owl is friendly and appreciative of their presence.

He is the primary coder of the Rhythm Doctor program, and he helps the player calibrate their system before handing them over to [[Paige]] to begin [[Samurai Techno]]'s Tutorial. He has a focus in radiology, and appears to work better with computers than people.

== Appearance ==
Ian has tan skin and wears glasses with a light blue tinge to them. He has somewhat messy black hair and is dressed in a white labcoat. Beneath the labcoat, Ian wears a grey shirt, a belt, black pants, and brown shoes. He has been described by others as having 'bloodshot eyes and delicate fingers'.

== Personality ==
Ian is a withdrawn and relatively quiet person. Paige mentions that Ian never partied or [https://twitter.com/RhythmDrGame/status/1528061883483160577 joined any clubs] in med school, which Ian begrudgingly confirms. He tends to steer towards more logical solutions and can come off as sarcastic or dry to others. Ian occasionally makes suggestions that can come off as insensitive as seen in Act 4's introduction, but he does care about others. He is a skilled gamer and has a set of old consoles that he sets up in the cafe at Nicole's persistent request. Ian, like Paige, is consistently overworked by Edega and has a tendency to work very late hours at Middlesea Hospital.

== Relationships ==
* Ian's closest relationship is with '''Doctor Ada [[Paige]].''' The two doctors went to med school together at Middlesea University and have known each other for years. Ian thinks fondly of Ada, and relies on her for patient care as she works easier with Middlesea Hospital's patients. He shows a great deal of concern for Ada.
* Ian is '''Doctor Gabe [[Edega]]''''s subordinate. He appears to be intimidated by Edega and does his best to meet his demands, even if they are unreasonable. He has begun to push back as seen in [[Unsustainable Inconsolable]]'s tutorial, but continues to work under Edega.

Doctor '''Gabriel Edega''' is a character that appears in Rhythm Doctor. He is the head doctor at Middlesea Hospital, and tends to have a cold demeanor when it comes to patient care.

== Appearance ==
Doctor Edega has auburn hair and light skin. He carries around a dark blue clipboard that is obscuring his face at all times. He wears a set of hospital scrubs that are a greenish hue along with a pair of black shoes.

== Personality ==
Doctor Edega appears to have a rather cutthroat approach to managing Middlesea Hospital, as he is quick to insult doctors and nurses that have quit their jobs, even going as far to accuse them of "leaving us to do all the work". He does not seem to mesh very well with the patients, let alone his subordinates Paige and Ian, who all seem to be intimidated or afraid of him. He has a tendency to make pointed comments at the performance of his subordinates, the Intern included. Edega can be spotted silently watching patients from afar, such as in [[The 90's Decision]] and [[Dreams Don't Stop]].

== Relationships ==
* Edega is '''[[Paige]]''''s boss, and treats her with a rather cold nature. He regularly makes comments on how she is performing, and expresses that she isn't doing enough. He has taken special note of how Paige is still struggling with swing-beats in [[Dreams Don't Stop]], and that she constantly is distracted by other patients.
* Edega is '''[[Ian]]''''s boss, and so has a tendency to push responsibilities on him regularly. He has tasked Ian with managing the ''Rhythm Doctor'' program, often pushing for him to take on even more for his workload as seen in Act 5.
* Edega is '''The [[Intern]]''''s boss, and treats them with an air of indifference with the occasional note on their competency. He comments that the Intern is rather nosy for eavesdropping on [[Unsustainable Inconsolable]]'s pre-tutorial conversation. If the Intern completes 5-X's tutorial with little to no mistakes, Edega praises them for their accuracy and tells them that he'll be watching their performance.
* Edega does not appear to be thought of fondly by '''Middlesea Hospital's patients''', as [[Nicole]] comments that he "just scares me". [[Lucky]] initially went along with Edega's proposed plans, but had a turnaround at the end of Act 5 that appeared to have disappointed Edega. Ian even notes that Lucky was the most Edega has ever spoken to a patient, reinforcing that he does not directly deal with the patients himself.
